Detectives believe a real estate agent found dead in a house at Melton in Melbourne last night was strangled.
Police found Lorelle Makin's body in a vacant house for sale at Milverton Road.
Ms Makin, 48, was due to show someone through the house at lunchtime yesterday.
A colleague of Ms Makin went to the house with police this morning, before returning to work in tears.
Other people have arrived at the real estate business in a similar state of distress.
Police will conduct a post-mortem this afternoon.
Homicide squad detective Senior Sergeant Ron Iddles is appealing for help from the public.
"We'd appeal to anyone in the street that may have seen anyone around this house whether they were acting suspiciously or not," he said.
"[They] may have seen someone genuinely looking at the property.
"We want anyone to come forward who's seen the vehicle here or seen anyone else at the property today around 12:15pm," he said.
Police believe the agent's car was stolen from the scene and it was found this morning at the Melton Valley Golf Club.
Man interviewed
Police say they interviewed a man about Ms Makin's death this morning but cannot say whether he is a suspect.
The man has since been released.
Ms Makin's boss, Tim Farnan, says his staff have been traumatised by her death.
"Lorelle's a very much respected and long-term employee who all staff will sadly miss," he said.
